This is going to be short and sweet, as I still have company! It was lovely day, July 5th, not too hot, and a beautiful Denman island-style ceremony on the beach, performed by our wonderful friend Leandra, with eagles soaring overhead as the ceremony ended (!); a fun reception with a delicious potluck dinner (a Denman Island wedding tradition), lots of kids, live music (played by some of Tim and Amber's talented friends and Tim's foster brother Daiv doing the lead vocals), lots of family-- a great day!
The string ritual, signifying the intertwining of families

A happy mom!

The Triple Lemon Vegan Wedding Cake-- there were two extra cakes and every bit got eaten!

Bubble machine!

PS: some B&W photos that my husband took.

The bride "jumping for joy" on the trampoline in her wedding dress! (She is a gymnast, BTW!)

Amber and Tim dancing

Tim and Mom dancing-- didn't know he was such a good dancer!
Love to you all!

More lovely pictures, Bryanna. Thanks for sharing with us.
Can't wait to find out what cake that was! You did a beautiful job on them. I like that there were three designs.
They remind of vintage gardens.
Oh how wonderful! Thanks for sharing your family's day with all of us. Warm wishes to all!
awesome wedding bryanna, just absolutely awesome. the cake, the string thing, the decroation and setup of the table, the bubbles...... just makes me want to get married again myself. Thanks for sharing this and the cake recipe above too... love it! even the leftvers look great.
What is the "string ritual"? I've never heard of it before. It looks interesting. Is that something that the families thought of or does the justice of the peace suggest or provide this idea? where did they get this idea? It looks lovely! Very interesting.
Anonymous: The string ritual was suggested by a friend of mine, who was consulting with the marriage commissioner about the ceremony with Tim and Amber. It symbolizes the intertwining of the two families into one. It was inmportant, since there has been alot of tension going on from both of their exes, which is hard on the girls. They really wanted the ceremony to show the strength of their new family.
I know this is too late but then I discovered you late, and this beautiful post just now. A very beautifully captured wedding. Very picturesque place and I love the simplicity of it all. Hope the girls are having fun!! I esp. like the b/w picture of the bride jumping for joy - vibrant snap!
Sunshinemom, thanks for writing! That is my favorite picture, too! The girls are doing well-- in fact, my son's daughter is now living with them full time!
